New Verbatim portable drive

EUROPEAN STORAGE OUTFIT Verbatim has just unveiled a new 2.5-inch external HDD with a 500 GB capacity.

The device, which weighs in at just under 6ozs and measures 3.4 x 5.3 x 0.6 inches is probably small and thin enough to fit into a normal sized hand. In a press release, the company boasts that its device is also decidedly low-noise, as it operates without a fan.

Despite its diminutive size, the device certainly does seem to deliver in terms of capacity, something the company has achieved by overlaying three 166 GB platters.
