Microsoft unveils 'screaming deals' for Windows 7
As you probably know, Windows 7 will officially make its appearance on October 22, 2009. Many people have decided not to upgrade from Windows XP because of Vista's bad reputation. There are some situations where people are continuing with old PCs and desperately need to get a new one, but have postponed the decision.
For those who urgently need a new PC and cannot hold out till October, you will be able to buy a new PC from next week from most companies including Dell, HP, SONY and Best Buy and be eligible for a "free upgrade" Windows 7 disk after October. (Assuming you get Windows Vista, the upgrade is usually pretty painless.)
What about those of you who have an existing PC, running Windows XP or Vista, and wish to upgrade to Windows 7? There is good news for all of you from the company in Redmond!
Till July 11,
you’ll be able to buy a Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade for $50.
The offer will be available online at Best Buy, Amazon as well as many other large Mail Order houses.
The online Microsoft Store will match these discounted prices instead of sticking with the full list price.
This program begins tomorrow and ends July 11th or while supplies last.
Well that about sums it all up... and may the upgrades begin!
